Despite a decline in beef and chicken exports, the growth in pork exports has helped strengthen Brazil's pig industry. In March 2023, pork exports reached 106.9 thousand tons, valued at 248.9 million USD, marking a 16.9% increase in volume and a 30.8% increase in turnover from the previous year. The first quarter of 2023 saw a 15.7% increase in pork export volume and a 29.6% increase in turnover compared to the same period in 2022. The main markets for Brazilian pork include China, Chile, the Philippines, Singapore, and Japan, with exports to Mexico starting in March 2023.
