In June, Vietnam's seafood export turnover reached $875 million, a 14% increase from the previous year, marking the highest monthly export turnover in 2023. Key products like pangasius, tuna, and crab saw significant growth, with pangasius exports increasing by 22%, especially to markets like China, Hong Kong, ASEAN, the UK, Brazil, and the US. The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) also boosted pangasius exports. Despite high demand, prices are expected to remain low due to competitive pressures and high input costs. The US Department of Commerce's final anti-dumping tax review resulted in lower tax rates for six Vietnamese pangasius exporters, indicating a positive outlook for the industry.
