In January 2023, Mexico experienced a dip in broiler chick production, with the country producing just over 590 million chicks, a 6.5% increase from the previous year but a 5% decrease from December 2022. This brought the total broiler chick production over the past 12 months to slightly over 6.9 billion, showing minimal growth of 0.15% compared to the previous year. This current production volume is not as high as the one achieved between April and December 2021, when the annual total neared 7 billion.
