The US International Trade Commission is investigating alleged low pricing and government subsidies in the Ecuadorian shrimp sector. The investigation, which also targets India, Indonesia, and Vietnam, could lead to additional import duties on US importers by late 2024 if dumping or subsidies are confirmed. The National Chamber of Aquaculture's president, José Antonio Camposano, noted that only two companies are under individual investigation, but the outcome will affect all Ecuadorian exporters.
