In the first half of this year, Cambodia exported over 810,000 tons of raw cashews, primarily to Vietnam, generating US$956 million. The current price of cashews in Cambodia is US$1,730 per ton. Due to insufficient funds for processing plants, local companies export raw cashews instead of processing them domestically. Cambodia is the third-largest cashew producer globally, with over 650,000 tons produced in 2023, following Côte d'Ivoire and India. However, its cashew processing industry is underdeveloped, with Vietnam leading in cashew processing, followed by India and Brazil.
