The region is a major producer of various agricultural products, including 45% of the country's white meat, 18% of red meats, 42% of sugar, and 24% of milk production and cereal production. It also hosts a significant number of industrial units, professional associations, and cooperatives, accounting for 15.8% of the agricultural GDP and 40% of the country's agro-industrial production. The region also attracts half of the investments in the sector, highlighting its importance in driving industrial development and being a potential example for sector revival post-COVID-19.
