In a statement, the agency noted that the binational action plan, implemented in August with the aim of reopening the border to cattle exports—closed since May—is "continuing to yield results." It also highlighted that 7,245 animals have been fully recovered after receiving the timely treatment established in the protocols applied in Mexico. Agriculture also underscored the "effective" dialogue between Secretary Julio Berdegué and the Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Brooke Rollins, with the purpose of "protecting the cattle industry of both nations." Finally, the Ministry of Agriculture assured that both countries continue working to guarantee the health of the cattle industry, "which is reflected throughout North America," for the benefit of producers and consumers.
