The Kent mango season in Casma, Áncash, has begun with significantly higher prices due to low production caused by adverse weather conditions. Prices for air and sea exports have seen a substantial increase, as well as the national market price. Despite the price increase benefiting Casma's economy, where mangoes are a key source of income, overall production in the province is down to 15% due to high temperatures inhibiting flowering. These high temperatures have also led to an 80% decrease in national production.
