Cepea estimates point to a decrease of 8% in the amount of cassava to be processed by the starch industry this week, which should total 46 thousand tons. Once again, industrial demand was not completely met, and the average idleness of the starch factories was 47% of the installed capacity. Between March 28 and April 1, the average nominal forward price of a ton of cassava post starch rose 1.5% to R$ 793.49 (R$ 1.3800 per gram of starch). The March average registered an increase of 7.6% compared to February. In real terms (deflation by the IGP-DI), this week's average increased 68% compared to the same period in 2021.
