Bulgaria's Minister of Agriculture, Hristo Bozukov, has announced an additional BGN 2 million funding for cattle and sheep breeders, to be taken from unspent financial resources. The funds are aimed at supporting the industry and finding markets for both live animals and products. The announcement was made at the National Fair for the Protection of Local Bulgarian Agricultural Breeds in Kalofer. The Minister also highlighted the importance of short supply chains and environmentally friendly production, as consumers show a growing preference for traditional taste and quality. The fair, held for the sixteenth time, is consumer-oriented and aims to showcase the characteristics of the breeds and products obtained from them.
