Netherlands: Cautious start to onion export season

Most onions were sold to Great Britain in the first week, with a volume of 2,600 tonnes. This is evident from the export figures of GroentenFruit Huis. Last year, in week 27, which was also the first week of the export season, more than 15,000 tons of onions were shipped to foreign destinations. What is striking at the start of the export season is the reluctance of the West African countries to buy large quantities of Dutch onions already.
