The current record real trading prices for the arroba of finished cattle are ensuring an improvement in the accounts of the terminating cattle rancher, even with the calf constantly appreciating in value. In this April partial, the amount of arrobas needed to buy a calf was the lowest in 12 months. In April (up to the 14th), the CEPEA/ESALQ Fat Cattle Indicator (São Paulo state) shows an average of R$ 363.82, with advances of 13% compared to January and 14% compared to April/25, in real terms (the monthly series was deflated by the IGP-DI of March/26). Researchers from Cepea emphasize that the current monthly average is slightly below (a difference of just one Real) the record registered in November 2011, when the arroba reached an average of R$ 364.82.
