Poland has seen a significant increase in the export of cheese and cottage cheese, with exports rising over four times from 2004 to 2020, reaching a value of EUR 823 million. The country's cheese production also increased by 65% during the same period, with cottage cheese and ripened rennet cheeses being the dominant types. The majority of these exports are directed to the EU-27, with the Czech Republic, Italy, Slovakia, and Germany being the main recipients. Additionally, Poland exports cheese to countries like Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, and Libya, among others.
