Chilean dried plums reach 79 destinations

The Trade Association of Dried Plum Processors and Exporters of Chile, Chileprunes, reported that the area cultivated with European plums reaches 12,530 hectares, reaching more than 100,000 MT annually, of which a significant percentage is destined for fresh plums. They also reported that Chile has established itself as the main exporter of dried plums worldwide, highlighting markets such as China, Germany and Mexico, which together represent 45% of the total volume of shipments. Upon further analysis, the main destination of dried plums is China, with a total of 15,188 metric tons, in second place is Germany with 5,424 tons, and in third place is Mexico with 5,347 tons. Other destinations such as Poland, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Turkey also stand out.
