Between January and April 2024, Chile achieved a record in fruit exports, with a volume of nearly 1.5 million tons and a value of US$ 4,441 million, marking a fourth year of consistent growth. Cherries were the leading fruit, contributing 46.1% to the total shipments, followed by grapes and blueberries. Fresh fruit made up 88% of the exports, while processed and dried fruits accounted for 10.8% and 1.2%, respectively. Major export destinations included China, the United States, and the Netherlands, with cherries and grapes being the top fruits exported in terms of value. This period saw a significant increase in the export of processed and dried plums, grapes, and apples, as well as canned other fruits and juices, despite a decrease in oil exports. However, nut exports experienced a substantial drop, with walnuts, hazelnuts, and almonds being the main fruits exported in this category.
