The European Union (EU) has withdrawn 20% of Cambodia's trade privileges due to human rights concerns, subjecting clothing, footwear, and travel goods to the same tariffs as other WTO members. Despite this setback, the EU may review its decision if reforms are implemented. In response, Cambodia is preparing to sign a Free Trade Agreement with China, which aims to enhance trade, investment, and service businesses, covering over 9,500 items from China to Cambodia and over 10,000 items in the opposite direction. This agreement is expected to provide tax exemptions for a significant portion of Cambodia's agricultural products.
