Yordan Chorbadzhiyski, chairman of the National Chamber of Vine and Wine, has urged political parties to prioritize agriculture ahead of the European Parliament elections. He criticized the high cost of grapes, which makes the wine sector uncompetitive, and the government's inability to simplify drilling permit procedures and support farmers with irrigation systems. He also criticized Bulgaria's withdrawal as host of the International Organization of Vine and Wine OIV meeting due to lack of funding, and the absence of Bulgarian ambassadors at a forum to establish new partnerships. Chorbadzhiyski called on future MEP candidates to advocate for Bulgarian agriculture.
