The World Citrus Organization (WCO) has released its annual Northern Hemisphere citrus forecast for the 2024-25 season, predicting a decrease in production by 8.73% to 27,297,216 tons, which is 5.88% below the average of the last four seasons. This is largely due to Turkey returning to normal production levels and an expected decline from Egypt. The total citrus exports are also expected to decrease by 8.94%. The forecast also highlights decreases in production in major EU countries like Spain, Italy, and Egypt, with the exception of Morocco, and a recovery in Israel. The WCO will release the production and export forecast for the Southern Hemisphere in April.
