Belgium: Clock prices for greenhouse vegetables are rising

After a three-week drop in tomato prices, the price rose again last week. The average price at the auctions of the Association of Belgian Horticultural Cooperatives (VBT) in week 32 is still below the five-year average. The supplied volumes were slightly lower than in week 31, but significantly higher than in 2021, when virus problems left large gaps in the supply. The cucumber price is (far) above average. For bell peppers, that was the last time in mid-March. However, last week the average price climbed above the five-year average after weeks. The aubergine price rose, despite ample volumes, according to LAVA. At the end of last week, the average price was more than 62 euro cents per kilo, more than twenty euro cents more than the week before. The good weather stimulated demand here.
