A meeting to discuss the progress of opening markets for various Brazilian agricultural products was recently held. The focus was on apples in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines, and avocados in Japan. The opening of new markets helps expand national production, improve product quality, and contribute to socioeconomic development. The meeting also addressed the updating of legislation for papaya export to North America, the National Plan for Fruit Growing Development, and the importance of monitoring national production data to defend the national productive potential and promote development. Despite being the third largest fruit producer globally, Brazil has a small share in the global fruit market, less than 1%.
