The Sinjai Regency Government's collaboration with the Cereal Crops Research Institute (Balitcereal) Maros has led to a significant increase in corn production in Kalobba Village, Tellulimpoe District, using hybrid corn varieties. These varieties can produce up to 4 tons of seeds per hectare, thanks to advanced techniques in spacing and fertilization. This success not only promises a profitable market for corn seeds but also positions Sinjai Regency as a potential breeding center for hybrid corn varieties, with the potential to become a model for other villages and expand beyond South Sulawesi. The collaboration between Balitsereal and the Sinjai Regency Government, along with the support from other local agencies, is seen as a significant step towards enhancing corn productivity and prosperity for local farmers.
