Turkey: The demand for black cumin oil increased during the pandemic

The demand for organic black cumin oil produced in the Bucak district of BURDUR has increased during the pandemic process. Black cumin produced in Bucak district is exported to various countries including USA, England and Russia. According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), 25 percent of Turkey's black cumin production last year was in Bucak. Nigella sativa, whose cultivation area has expanded in the last 10 years in the region and produced with organic methods, is also preferred with its oil, as it strengthens the immune system. Black cumin oil, whose consumption has increased during the Covid-19 epidemic, is in demand in the foreign market as well as the domestic market.
