According to the report, cotton farming is expected to occupy 1.42 million hectares in the state, which represents a contraction of 0.83% compared to the previous estimate and 8.06% compared to the previous crop season. Since the initial analyses, Imea has already pointed out that the high production costs would be one of the main factors for the contraction in the planted area.
