Damp and cold weather is preventing the completion of sunflower and soybean harvesting in Ukraine.

Last week in Ukraine, the weather was quite wet and cold with small amounts of precipitation, which hindered the harvesting of late crops, so farmers were able to thresh only 5-6% of the sunflower and soybean areas and 13% of the corn in a week. According to the operational data of the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, as of November 6, in Ukraine, from 9.302 million hectares or 81% of the planned areas, 43.63 million tons of grains and legumes were harvested with an average yield of 4.69 tons/ha, while on November 7, 2024, from 10.413 million hectares or 94% of the planned areas, 49.938 million tons of grains and legumes were harvested with an average yield of 4.8 tons/ha.
