In May, chicken production costs for day-old chicks decreased by 0.35%, due to a reduction in prices, specifically from R $ 1.60 in April to R $ 1.40 in May in São Paulo and southern states. Despite this, the cost of animal nutrition, which accounts for 71.40% of production costs, saw a less significant increase of 0.61% compared to April. The decrease in production costs was more pronounced in Rio Grande do Sul, with a 2.88% drop, while Santa Catarina and Paraná experienced slight increases in production costs.
