Brazil is set to harvest over one million tons of oats in the 2021/2022 crop, a 27.7% increase from the previous year, according to the National Supply Company (Conab). This is due to higher demand and the adoption of more productive cultivars. Oats are the second most planted winter crop in Brazil, behind wheat, and are primarily grown in southern Brazil. The average price paid to producers is between R$ 1.1 thousand and R$ 1.2 thousand per ton. The oat seed market generates R$ 28 million in revenue annually.
