Danish sales of organic fruits and vegetables have seen a significant increase of 143% in the past four years, according to Danmarks Statistik. The sales of organic potatoes, fruits, lettuce, and cabbage have tripled, indicating a growing preference for organic food. Michael Langberg, the marketing director for Økologisk Landsforening, attributes this shift to the desire for pesticide-free food and a growing environmental consciousness. Organic fruits and vegetables now hold a 24.7% and 22.7% market share, respectively. In Brazil, the city of São Paulo has reported an increase in organic sales during the pandemic.
