REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) recorded an increase in domestic consumption of crude palm oil (CPO) in August 2025, despite a decrease in palm oil product exports compared to the previous month. This situation occurred amid a decline in national palm oil production during the same period. GAPKI Executive Director Mukti Sardjono conveyed that CPO production in August 2025 reached 5.06 million tons, down 1 percent from July 2025, which reached 5.11 million tons. Palm kernel oil (PKO) production also decreased from 493 thousand tons to 481 thousand tons. However, on an annual basis, CPO and PKO production until August 2025 totaled 39.04 million tons, up 13.08 percent from the same period in 2024, which was 34.52 million tons.
