Previously, in June 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia and its Chinese partner signed an agreement to allow Cambodia to import up to 500,000 tons of mangoes to China each year. After reaching the agreement, at the end of December 2020, the first batch of fresh mangoes from Cambodia were exported to the Chinese market through official channel. At the end of December 2020, only 4 Cambodian companies were eligible to export mangoes to China. After just over 4 months, the number of units allowed to export mangoes to China of Cambodia increased significantly, showing that the country has carefully prepared to attack this huge market. According to statistics, Cambodia has about 100,000 hectares of mango, with an output of about 1.5 million tons / year.
