The Ministry of Industry and Trade in Vietnam reports a significant increase in the export value of fruits and nuts, with a 26.4% surge in January 2021 compared to the previous month, and an 4% increase compared to January 2020. Fresh or frozen dragon fruit dominated the exports, seeing a 64% monthly increase and a 14.7% year-on-year rise. Other fruits like mango, coconut, banana, walnut, and macadamia nut also experienced notable growth. The export value of processed products fell by over 21% compared to December 2020 but rose by 29.3% compared to January 2020, with coconut water and rice, and various processed vegetables, tubers, and fruits showing increases. The vegetable group saw the highest growth rate, with a 35.4% increase compared to December 2020 and a 46.3% increase compared to January 2020, led by chili and cabbage exports.
