As of March 1, 2024, durian prices in Vietnam remain high, with Ri6 and Thai durians priced at 142,000 VND/kg and 200,000 VND/kg respectively. The global durian production is expected to increase by 10% by 2030, intensifying competition among exporters, particularly in China. Countries like Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines are targeting to capture a significant portion of Thailand's Chinese market share. With increased durian production and improved export facilities, Vietnam's durian export turnover could reach 3.5 billion USD in 2024. The durian industry is projected to grow at a rate of 7.2% per year from 2019-2025.
