Embrapa guides fruit production in the Amazon

Embrapa Amazônia Oriental (PA) offers Amazonian producers a publication that guides, in a simple way and with visual resources, the cultivation of 21 introduced native, exotic or national fruit species, thus helping the planning of commercial production and stimulating local development . Available on the Embrapa portal for consultations and downloads, the fruit tree calendar in the Amazon: native and exotic is a synthesis of more than two decades of research with fruit trees in the region, many with national and international demands in rapid expansion. The work, authored by researcher Walnice Nascimento and journalist Kélem Cabral, both from Embrapa, brings a scientific basis to the production systems of these species, in order to generate new income opportunities for producers and contribute to the conservation of Amazonian biodiversity.
