Erzurum province in eastern Turkey is renowned for its agricultural output, particularly in beans, sugar beet, corn, sunflower, and forage crops, with the famous beans from İspir and Hınıs districts earning a Geographical Indication Registration Certificate. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Governor's Office have supported farmers, resulting in a bean yield of approximately 3,000 tons from a 14,000 decare area. These beans are highly regarded for their taste, aroma, and quick cooking time, and are sold in various provinces. Oğuzeli Akar, the Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, emphasized the region's potential in agriculture and animal husbandry, mentioning a project called 'Hınıs-Bir' designed to further support farmers. Zülküf Yeşilbaş, who has been selling local products in the city for nearly 30 years, highlighted the superior quality of İspir beans due to their high altitude cultivation.
