Turkey: Erzurum's proprietary İspir and Hınıs beans are in high demand from consumers

Standing out with its fertile lands such as Pasinler Plain in Eastern Anatolia, Erzurum makes its mark in bean production as well as sugar beet, corn, sunflower, forage crops. With the famous beans grown in İspir and Hınıs districts and branded by obtaining the Geographical Indication Registration Certificate, Erzurum is the 13th province in Turkey with the highest production in this sector. With the seed, machinery and training supports of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Governor's Office for farmers, a yield of around 3 thousand tons is obtained from beans, whose production area reaches 14 thousand decares.
