EU reduces tomato exports

The European Union expects stable production of fresh tomatoes in 2023. Exports from the EU to the UK, Asia and North America, in particular, continue to fall. Imports from such countries as Morocco and Turkey are increasing. This is stated in the report of the European Commission. It is noted that the European Union faces constant challenges, such as the high cost of energy. The market of fresh tomatoes remains stable, the market of industrial tomatoes grew by 8.4%. Consumption of fresh tomatoes is 15 kg/person. Smaller calibers are becoming more popular, resulting in lower overall weight.
