The Regional Governor of Thessaly, Dimitris Kouretas, has met with livestock cooperatives EVOL and Gala Elass to discuss a plan to support the region's livestock farming. The cooperatives raised issues such as the creation of a center for genetic improvement of dairy sheep, measures to address Greekization and excessive milk imports, and reinforcing meat production. Kouretas agreed with the cooperatives' requests to continue OTAs providing milk packages to workers and financing a research program to certify and breed Thessalian sheep. He also urged cooperative members to utilize funded programs under 'Thessaly 2021-2027' related to cooperation and entrepreneurship.
