The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in South Korea is planning to produce and supply 3,600 tons of wheat, barley, and rye for sowing next winter to improve self-sufficiency rate and food crop quality. The production amount has been determined based on the trend of supply and demand, government policies, and local government survey results. The supply includes 2,320 tons of wheat, 1,180 tons of barley, and 100 tons of rye. The ministry aims to increase self-sufficiency rate and align with dietary habits by producing more varieties of wheat and barley, popular for noodles and baking, respectively.
