The Chinese market alone brought in nearly $5 billion, continuing to serve as the spearhead of the entire agricultural sector. China is currently Vietnam's largest fruit and vegetable export market, accounting for about 64% of the total turnover. In the first 11 months of 2025, fruit and vegetable exports to this market reached nearly $5 billion, an increase of about 15% compared to the same period last year and exceeding the record of $4.63 billion for the whole of 2024. At the beginning of 2025, fruit exports, particularly star fruit, faced many difficulties as China tightened controls on residual levels of the chemicals carbofuran and cadmium.
