The Turkish aquaculture and animal products sector has surpassed its 2023 export target of 3.5 billion dollars, reaching 3.591 billion dollars in exports in the past year. The sector, which exports to 142 countries, set a new target of 3.8 billion dollars for the end of 2022 and 4.2 billion dollars for the end of 2023. Iraq was the biggest importer with 555 million dollars, followed by Russia and Italy. The aquaculture industry contributed the most to these exports with 1.436 billion dollars. The sector, which included poultry meat, eggs, milk and dairy products, and honey, saw the highest exports from poultry meat and eggs.
