President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed law No. 12148, which exempts farmers from frontline and occupied territories from paying loans, interest, and leasing payments during the war and for a year after its conclusion. This was reported in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The new law provides that farmers are exempt from paying loans, interest, fees, and leasing payments throughout the entire period of the war, as well as for another year after its official end. The benefits extend to entrepreneurs who, as a result of hostilities or occupation, have lost the ability to conduct business activities. The legislator paid special attention to farmers whose property is located in temporarily occupied territories or in active combat zones. At the same time, the document applies exclusively to loans issued before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion on February 24, 2022, provided that the borrower cannot fulfill their obligations due to the consequences of the war.
