FGV: More expensive commodities pressure wholesale inflation in the IGP-DI for September

By Daniela Amorim Rio, 07/10/2025 - The increases in the prices of commodities such as coffee beans (14.81%), corn (4.27%), iron ore (0.76%), beef (1.72%), and cattle (0.96%) pressured the wholesale inflation measured by the General Price Index - Internal Availability (IGP-DI) for September, reported the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). In the ranking of main negative contributions in wholesale for September, the largest reliefs came from the drops in the prices of cellulose (-6.33%), fertilizers (-2.42%), VHP sugar (-4.60%), husked rice (-5.49%), and tomatoes (-16.16%). The IGP-DI went from an increase of 0.20% in August to a rise of 0.36% in September. Over 12 months, the index accumulated an increase of 2.31%.
