Sales of fishery products to Brazil increased in the first half of 2021, with the purchase of 13,787 tons generating $37.8 million and the purchase of 16,743 tons generating $42.8 million. Mar del Plata is the fishing pole with the strongest link to the Brazilian import market, with hubbsi hake being the majority of the exported cargo. Brazil was the main buyer of hubbsi hake fillet, buying 14,519 tons for $40.1 million, marking a significant increase compared to the same period last year. However, it does not seem that shrimp exports have significantly influenced the overall numbers of fishery products crossing the border into Brazil yet.
