The head of Indonesia's National Food Agency, Arief Prasetyo Adi, has urged his staff to closely monitor state-owned company Perum Bulog's role in storing 3 million tons of rice and 1 million tons of corn by 2025, in line with the government's aim to stop importing certain staple foods. The agency has also seen a reduction in areas vulnerable to food insecurity, with a target to cut food waste by up to 5 percent from 2025. Two senior officials, Sri Nuryanti and Nita Yulianis, have been inaugurated to lead efforts in controlling food insecurity and alertness.
