According to the APK-Inform news agency, since the beginning of last week, prices in the milling wheat sector have continued to decline in Ukraine. This situation is due to a large number of grain supply, which continued to prevail over demand against the background of moderate rates of grain purchases by processing enterprises. Flour mills basically continue to work on the previously formed raw material base, purchasing only small volumes of grain if it is necessary to replenish it. Also, pressure on prices continued to be exerted by extremely low demand from traders due to the stoppage of exports in traditional ways amid the blockade of seaports, further decline in flour prices, and difficulties in selling wheat bran. So, since the beginning of last week, many millers have reduced demand prices for wheat of 2 and 3 classes by 100-300 UAH/t and, as of May 3, fix them in the range of 6800-8100 UAH/t and 6750-8000 UAH/t CPT, respectively. It should be noted that some businesses have reported a temporary stoppage of production in order to carry out scheduled preventive maintenance, which also put some pressure on prices.
