Turkey: For quality production, excess apples are cut from the branch

In Karaman, producers cut the excess apples from the trees and thin them in order to produce quality apples. Producers cut about 20 percent of the apples on the trees from the branch for quality apples. The President of the Chamber of Agriculture, Mehmet Bayram, said that with approximately 500 thousand tons of apples produced annually by Karaman, it alone meets 16 percent of the apple production in Turkey.
