The Moscow Region has introduced a new dairy breed, the red Danish cow, at a farm in the Karamat equestrian tourist park, as reported by the region's Minister of Agriculture and Food, Sergei Voskresensky. Known for its adaptability and high milk yield with a high fat content, the red Danish cow is ideal for cheese production, aligning with the region's plans to enhance cheese production. The farm aims to expand its red Danish herd to 30 cows, with an annual milk production capacity of 210 tons. This introduces a new dimension to the region's dairy industry, diversifying from its traditional dairy breeds, Kholmogory and black-and-white cows, and jersey and Holstein breeds.
