(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Choi Hyun-seok = The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 17th that, as a result of a joint inspection with local governments from August 25 to August 28, targeting 107 companies that directly conduct self-quality inspections of livestock products, four companies were found to have violated the Livestock Hygiene Management Act and administrative measures have been requested from the relevant local governments. The companies found in violation are the Suwon factory of Dongwon F&B, Myeongga Dairy, SRL International, and the second dairy processing factory of Imsil Cheese Agricultural Cooperative. The main violations were: ▲ failure to conduct some self-quality inspections (2 companies) ▲ failure to comply with the obligation to keep inspection-related records for two years (1 company) ▲ failure to operate a record management system to prevent falsification or tampering (1 company). In addition to the inspection, 64 livestock products with no recent collection and inspection history from companies that directly conduct self-quality inspections were collected and tested, resulting in one product being found to exceed the detection limit for E. coli, which led to the product being blocked from distribution and disposed of. harrison@yna.co.kr
