Mexican aquaculture has seen significant growth, with tilapia production exceeding 21,000 tons by the end of 2023, predominantly in states such as Sinaloa, Sonora, Nayarit, Tamaulipas, and Baja California Sur. To further expand and improve the quality of this industry, ADM identified four key factors at the "Tilapia Meeting 2024" for enhancing tilapia production. These factors focus on using highly digestible ingredients that align with the species' natural metabolism and local climatic conditions, aiming to increase growth rate, survival, and reduce costs. Despite these advancements, the industry faces challenges, including climate change, for which ADM is developing animal nutrition solutions in collaboration with aquaculturists to ensure resilience and sustainable growth.
