Recent frosts in Spain have led to a significant decrease in artichoke production, particularly of the PGI Alcachofa de Tudela variety, with an expected 30% drop compared to the previous year. Early cultivation resulted in greater damage, but those who delayed planting have fared better. Despite the setback, the canning campaign is on track to reach 1.2 million kilos by early June. The production data for the fresh campaign is pending, but it shows a 50% decrease from 2021. The campaign involved 85 farmers and 11 companies in the canning process.
