The article highlights the need for superior seeds in the development of horticultural villages, particularly for fruit cultivation, as the number of these villages has seen a decrease despite increasing area. The Directorate General of Horticulture in Indonesia is pursuing partnerships with research institutions and seed producers to meet this demand, focusing on quality and certification of seeds. Financial support is also provided to farmer groups in the horticultural villages to improve seed quality and combat pests and diseases. The government is planning to extend this support to avocado villages as well.
