The government of Gaza is encouraging the private sector to establish agro-processing factories to prevent post-harvest waste of rice and boost local production. Prime Minister Adriano Maleiane made this appeal during a meeting with businessmen, highlighting the need for businesses to invest in agro-processing to complete the agricultural production value chain. However, entrepreneurs have requested the state to settle debts to prevent bankruptcy and facilitate business expansion. Currently, there is a significant amount of unsold rice in the districts of Bilene and Chókwè due to a lack of buyers.
